I took a walk this afternoon on the trail next to Chateau St Michelle and decided to stop and check it out. This is something I have wanted to do for three years now, and I finally got to it. The pathetic part is that it is probably about 2 miles from my house. Chateau St Michelle is located in Woodinville, WA and is known for their award winning wines. The French style Chateau is worth checking out on its own. I think a wine tasting is in my near future! Here is some additional information if you would like to check them out.

Roosters, a great little place for BBQ.

Rooters is located in Black Diamond, WA on the way to Sunrise at Mt Rainier. Its a great little BBQ place with charm and decor to match. I found myself just taken by the Northwestern mix of awesome photography and the rustic outdoors. Dinner was a good mix of brisket, baked beans and homemade coleslaw. For around $10.00 you can enjoy just about anything on the menu. This will now be a regular stop on the way to Sunrise!!!!

North bend Bar and Grill, A great place, with a great view.

The North Bend Bar and Grill is located in North Bend Washington. North Bend is most known for Its views of the Twin Peak Mountains (from the older TV show Twin Peaks) and Mount Si. Its is located about twenty minutes east of Seattle off of I90. This great little Bar and Grill will knock you off your socks. Meals are moderately priced (8.00 and up) and the food is delicious. Did I mention the view from the outdoor patio on the front of the building is of Mt Si? Clean, fun, a great atmosphere, and goof food, what more could you want.

Lunch at Ivars Fish Bar, over looking Lake Union.

Ivar’s Fish Bar. You haven’t been to Seattle unless you have eaten at Ivar’s. A local chain with great Salmon and Chips. Indoors or outdoors, Ivar’s can accommodate. This particular Ivar’s is located just outside of the Fremont area, right on Lake Union. They have some of the best views of Downtown Seattle and The Space Needle. Moderately priced and they also have Marine Toxins Test Kits to check their raw materials, you can take the whole family and enjoy. Oh but don’t forget to save some for the ducks, geese and seagulls that will join you at your table outside.

Paradise Lodge at Mt Rainier.

Paradise Lodge is approximately 5,400ft above sea level. Oh and did I mention it sits on Mt. Rainier! The National Park service quote ” that Paradise is the snowiest place on Earth where snow is measured regularly.” It has been recorded at 1,122 inches of snow-thats a lot of snow!!!!! The Paradise Inn was originally built in 1916 and houses 121 guest rooms, the dinning room, Tatoosh Café, and authentic Native American arts and crafts at the gift shop. However the lodge is only open during Spring and Summer so it books up fast. If you enjoying hiking, exploring, water falls, and other outdoor activities or just hanging out enjoying the amazing views of the top of Mt Rainier, this is the place to be.

Everyone knows that Starbucks started here in Seattle, and most people are familiar with Seattle Best Coffee as well. However, did you know that Washington has an abundance of coffee huts?? Well let me tell you this, there is no shortage of coffee in the Pacific Northwest. These little drive up coffee huts are everywhere. They all have their own design and charm to tempt the locals to try their coffee. I have to confess, I found my favorite The Cup and Muffin in Kingston, on the Olympic Peninsula. The price is usually comparable to other coffee places, but the convenience of the drive up or walk up is something to be desired. I will continue to add to this post because there are coffee huts everywhere!!!! They are too cute to pass up, so If you want coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or just a cookie this is a quick and easy way to enjoy.
